And He Shall Be Called Jesus Christ
This is a short cantata that was originally composed in 1992 for the West Sacramento Ward choir. It is based on a few of the many Book of Mormon scriptures that testify of the divine mission of Jesus Christ. All of the text comes from the Book of Mormon. Some of the text is found in both the Book of Mormon and the Bible. Although there has been a lot of editing since 1992, the text and the basic melodies have not changed.
Included are options to use additional instruments. I believe the additional instruments enhance the sound. But the core of the cantata is the choir and the piano. The MP3 sound track provided includes the additional instrumental parts. It is computer generated and not of performance quality.
At the bottom of this page there are buttons to download the entire cantata. To download the sheet music for a specific song, click or tap on the title of the song which will open a page where you can download the score for that song.
There is also a link to an orchestrated version of the cantata below.
If you decide to perform the entire cantata (which takes about half an hour performance time) - would you please send me a note (via Contact Us)?
